Video demo:

This Serdev Suture® method for abdominal flaccidity was first presented in 1994 as a scarless alternative to the classic abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). It is a transcutaneous closed approach. The concept is based on lifting the mobile abdominal wall fascia to immobile xiphoid periosteum, and/or costal periosteum or perichondrium, and/or spina iliaca superior anterior periosteum. To achieve this, special instrumentarium is used – curved, semi-elastic Serdev® needles and semi-elastic surgical sutures, distinguished by a prolonged period of delayed absorption (2-3 years).

Skin perforations alone are used in the abdominal skin to capture, suture and lift the fascias that support it. To obtain outcome longevity it is important to lift and stretch the firm mobile fascias, attaching them to immobile firm tissue.

The Serdev Suture® lift can be used in selected cases of thin patients without marked subdermal fat, in order to obtain a scarless and atraumatic tightening of the abdominal skin.
